Set into a steep alpine slope, Alpine Shadow House is composed of two distinct wings joined by a glazed link, one holding the bedrooms, the other given entirely to communal life. The dark, monolithic form was chosen deliberately: against snow and granite, the house reads as shadow and outline rather than object. Inside, full height glazing draws the mountains into every room, while a restrained material palette lets the landscape remain the focus. Starting from $5,200 USD.

Woodland Silhouette isn’t a mountain home, but it shares the same design instincts that define good Scandinavian-influenced architecture: thin vertical timber and pale natural stone, kept quiet enough to let the ancient woodland around it stay the focus. Irregular gable glazing echoes the broken tree line beyond, and the plan wraps carefully around three mature pines that were kept in place during construction. Starting from $3,400 USD.

What carries across every Scandinavian-influenced project

The details change with climate and site, but a few instincts stay constant across our Scandinavian-style work: a pared-back material palette, usually no more than two or three materials used honestly rather than dressed up; generous glazing oriented to capture whatever light the site offers; and a plan that favours a few well-proportioned rooms over many small ones. It’s a language equally at home on an exposed alpine slope or in a quiet English woodland.
