Devon Meadow House

Set within Visura's home county, Devon Meadow House is a blackened timber bungalow tucked low into wild coastal grasses, reached by a single gravel path through the meadow. The house was designed to disappear into its site by day and glow gently from within at dusk, its low gabled form borrowed from the agricultural buildings that dot the surrounding landscape. It is, fittingly, one of the studio's most personal projects.

The single storey plan keeps every room at grade, opening directly onto the meadow through wide sliding glazing rather than raised decks or steps. A wind sheltered courtyard at the rear gives the main bedroom its own private outdoor space, screened from the gravel path approach at the front.

All designs and floor plans can be customised to suit individual needs.
