Set into a steep alpine slope, Alpine Shadow House is composed of two distinct wings joined by a glazed link, one holding the bedrooms, the other given entirely to communal life. The dark, monolithic form was chosen deliberately: against snow and granite, the house reads as shadow and outline rather than object, its presence felt more than seen. Inside, full height glazing draws the mountains into every room, while a restrained material palette lets the landscape remain the focus.
The bedroom wing sits slightly downhill from the communal wing, giving each side its own relationship to the slope and its own quality of light. A double height entry link connects the two, doubling as an informal gallery for ski gear and boots without it ever feeling like storage. Inside, a single wood burning hearth anchors the main living space, visible from the kitchen, dining area and a sunken lounge one step below.
All designs and floor plans can be customised to suit individual needs.
