Woodland Silhouette

Nestled within ancient woodland, Woodland Silhouette uses thin vertical timber and pale natural stone to blend quietly into its surroundings rather than compete with them. The irregular gable glazing echoes the broken silhouette of the tree line beyond, softening the building's edges at dusk. It is a house designed to be discovered slowly, revealing itself only as you move through the trees.

The plan wraps around three mature pines that were kept in place during construction, with the kitchen and main bedroom both looking directly onto them. A covered timber walkway connects the entry to a separate studio at the rear of the site, useful as a home office or guest space. Deep roof overhangs keep the pale stone base protected through wet winters.
